THE GAME IS MAKING HOOPS
Game Playing Professional Ball; Gears Up For Dr.'s Advocate
When you first meet Game, he will glady tell you that if he wasn't doing music, he would be playing basketball. Now that he's got a foothold on the music industry, Game takes a leap in the past to start a new career. With Game having a tremendous amount of love for basketball, it has inked him a spot on a professional basketball team. Game has invested in and joined the newly formed Inglewood Cobra's out of California. The Cobras will open their season on November 29th at The Forum against the Vegas Rattlers. Game tells AHH, " I am starting at either the No. 2 or the No. 3 position - not because I'm 'The Game' - but because I've earned the right," Game exclaimed. "I grew up playing basketball. I'm only 25 and I'm still in professional shape. I've been in intense practices with the Cobras for about a month now and the team is looking forward to winning every game and selling out Fhe Forum with the help of myself and a bunch of talented young guys eager to elevate their own basketball careers."
When not practicing with his teammates, Game is busy in the studio working on his sophmore LP, Dr.'s Advocate which has an April release date. Production for the album include tracks from Dr. Dre, Kanye West, Just Blaze, Timbaland, Scott Storch and Cool & Dre. The Game's already been in the studio with Dre and said his beef with 50, who is also signed under Aftermath, hasn't been an issue. "Dr. Dre makes good music," the Game explained. "Eminem, 50 Cent, myself, we all sell records, we're all protégés of Dr. Dre. So me and 50's beef stays outside and we don't bring it in the house." Game's goal for this album is just to "get it done, sell a million records the first week."
LUDACRIS SPEAKS ABOUT HIS CONFEDERATE FLAG
No Regret For Performance Outfit
If you watched the 2005 Vibe Awards on Tuesday night and you saw Ludacris performace of 'Georgia' with Bobby Valentino and Field Mob, you probably wondered what was going through Ludacris' minds. Internet groups, small circles of people have been discussing Ludacris' performance ever since. For the first time since the incident, Ludacris defends his outfit and the flag. "The discussions that have been sparked after my performance of “Georgia” at the 2005 VIBE Awards is my exact reason for wearing a depiction of the Confederate flag. This flag represents the oppression that we as African Americans have endured for years; this is a symbol of segregation and the racism that reigned not only throughout the South but throughout the entire United States. I wore it to represent where we came from, to remind people that Ray Charles’ original “Georgia” was written because of that racism. At the end of the performance, I removed and stomped on the flag to reveal my version of the flag; a flag comprised of black, red and green. Those are the colors of Africa. It is a representation and my interpretation of where we were and where we need to go. Racism is just as prevalent now and if we are not constantly mindful of our history and take charge of it; history is destined to repeat itself because of ignorance. In order to move forward, we must never forget where we were.” Ludacris finished up his statement hoping that people will continue to "challenge authority, media and themselves because questioning and challenging can only lead to enlightenment."
THE LOX AND DIDDY QUARREL OVER THE RADIO
Rap Group Air It Out on Hot 97 With Angie Martinez
Looks can be deceiving If you saw Jay Z's 'I Declare War' show where he had Diddy and The Lox on the stage performing together. Just weeks later, it's like all that peace stuff was done and over with when the curtains closed. On Hot 97 with Angie Martinez, Lox members Jadakiss and Styles P yelled aggressively about their wish for the publishing from Diddy. "Imagine working for years working for years, hard work and somebody that has nothing to do with that is getting the bulk of it. You’d be totally, utterly frustrated. And, you tryin’ to get around it for years and you call about it with lawyers, but people are too powerful,” said Style P, alluding to Combs’ influence. After hearing these aquisitions, Diddy called in from his office to say his peace. "If somebody is getting in the way of you expressing yourself, you can come get at me directly,” said Diddy from the phone. “We’re businessmen. We’re all mature adults here. Y’all sit on this interview and talk as long as you want to talk or you can take the invitation I extended before. Its not even getting there -You getting on the radio, whatever tactic – I’m not your enemy. Don’t sit here and portray that Puff took something from y’all.” The following day, Diddy appeared live in the studio with Angie with canceled checks and papers regarding The Lox and their publishing.
